A fresh start can begin with something as simple as a soft sweatshirt and a bear to hold, along with a dose of compassion.
Our Assault Survivor Kits® provide fresh clothing and personal care products for survivors of assault, allowing them to leave the emergency room in comfort after their clothing has been taken by either the hospital or law enforcement.
These kits are supplied to the emergency rooms at PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center, Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital, PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center, as well as the YWCA Clark County.
In 2025, we began including teddy bears from our Share-a-Bear program, adding a touch of comfort to support survivors during a difficult time.
In the past year, we donated 87 kits to local hospitals and the YWCA, offering care, compassion, and dignity when it’s needed most.

“It is a good feeling to be able to give our patients new clothing and items to freshen up with before they are discharged. The sooner old items are discarded and replaced with new, the sooner the healing process can begin. We depend on the Survivor Kits and we thank everyone involved for making the kits available for our patients.”
